Stop getting butthurt about what other people wear. Jesus christ. If anyone wants to wear a cross, headdress, nun costume, hijab, pentagram, gold chain…fuck it, who the fuck do you think you are to tell them they aren’t…

I am not taking any hurtful action against you. I am not rallying racism either. I’m not a racist person in the slightest. Human beings are more than the sum of their demographic. I don’t think anyone should be held accountable for their entire demographic, whether it be for good or bad. But bullying people for admiring an aspect of your culture does absolutely no good. If you’re offended fucking teach them what it means to your culture and maybe what it means to you personally and let them form their own opinion. You’re saying you have more of a right than other people do. And when you give yourself rights, you put yourself into a category no one else can be in. We all know segregation leads to narrowmindedness and racism. That is the exact opposite of what you supposedly want, so why not teach instead? Hostility doesn’t foster knowledge.

Admiring a culture, cultural appreciation, is not cultural appropriation. Admiring a culture does not consist of stealing and misusing cultural items.

Having a closed culture, or a culture where one must earn the right to have a sacred item, is not the same thing as segregation.

I am not holding you accountable for what white people have done (though you benefit from what white people have done and do); I am holding you accountable for your own actions. You spoke over Native people, dismissed our feelings and beliefs, disrespected the people from the cultures who practice the use of the warbonnet, and declared that you had the authority to give everyone permission to misuse it. Those are the actions of a racist person.

I have been teaching. I have been attempting to teach you. I have done so logically and calmly, even though I have every right to be angry because you are promoting racism against Native Americans.

You are playing the victim and in denial over your own racist actions. Devote that energy to research cultural appropriation, white privilege, and racism.

Are white ppl ever going to understand that native people actually DON'T get scholarships or free secondary education ? It's a myth made up by the government -- just like most of the treaty 'privileges' we have. Most native people don't go to uni or college BECAUSE they can't afford it,not because they're 'lazy' and 'stupid'. Meanwhile,I know dozens of white ppl with low,barely-passing grades who apply for scholarships and get them with no problems.

Answer

I have ndn friends who were able to get scholarships for participating and preserving their cultures; but it is not the same as getting a scholarship just for being ndn. Also, those scholarships were not a fraction of the cost of one “education”. I agree with you. White people want to believe that people of color get their entire education paid for and on-top-of-that, that they got the scholarship and enrollment into whatever college without having earned it. They just want to feel victimize to counteract their white guilt.

natural-thin:

Can people please stop being so mean to me? I never meant to offend anyone, and I’m sorry if I did. I don’t know why people are taking what I said so seriously. I don’t matter. I’m a fashion blog, so I’m going to just drop the subject. I UNDERSTAND NOW. and I’m going to delete every single one of the 23 messages in my inbox, all of which are probably calling me a “racist piece of shit”

being called a “racist piece of shit” is nothing compared to the racism Native Americans experience; racism which you are helping to promote. I saw a lot of people telling you why it is harmful; the only person I saw calling you names were anonymous and probably sent from yourself so you can play the victim.

If individuals from an oppressed group(s) are “bullying” their oppressors is that not understandable and justifiable? Can you guess their motive? When I hear the word “bullying” a lot of not-okay things come to mind; however, I have seen several people claim social justice bloggers are bullying them when they are merely discussing, informing, and disagreeing with their accusers. Either way; an individual from an oppressed group is not obligated to be nice to their oppressors. I am sure you can understand that if someone in your life repeatedly hurt you (hopefully you don’t have anyone like that in your life) and systemically and institutionally oppressed you, you may not want to be nice to this person.

**^She just insulted my culture and how I was raised and used it to turn me into something subhuman. That is racism.

^She acts innocent like she did nothing to…

Telling you that you posted a racist photo and should delete it is not harassment. And I gave you evidence anyone can read the conversation we had, it is still on my page, where I gave you lots of evidence (without using any insults) and I even gave you links so you can read what other people have written on the subject.

I have never told anyone to write to you. And I have never approved of anyone sending messages that promotes suicide. I will never support people who tell others to kill themselves. You are putting out a very horrible lie about me. I have had best friends, friends, and family members commit suicide and I advocate against suicide. And I will never tell someone to kill themselves. You are making a very horrible lie against me to gain sympathy so that people will over look your racist behavior.

Also, it is not racist to tell people (like you) to stop posting racist images.

Their you go again acting like the victim. Im not lying about anything and you actually are very racist as longs as someone is white or doesn’t look native you accuse them of “mocking your” heritage when you have no actual proof that they are/aren’t Native.

I write to every single person who post racist photos against Native Americans; I cannot control that the huge majority of people who post these racist images are white.

Having Native blood does NOT grant you or anyone the right to post racist photos. The photo you posted is racist and dehumanizes us; I gave you ample evidence and references, you chose to ignore it. But guess? I can’t just ignore your racism. Even if I never see your racist post it still promotes racism and anyone who sees it might internalize that racism and perpetuate it some more. I am directly affected by your racism. Native Americans are directly affected by your racism. You are the one playing the victim, when really you are the one harming an entire race.

And you are lying, about a lot of things actually. I never told anyone to write to you and I never told anyone to tell you to kill yourself.

I did a thing

this is the most ridiculous thing I’ve come across in a long time.

I understand the daily hardships that so many people have in a world ruled by white males.

I understand that sometimes this can make it feel as if all white males are the enemy (especially for those who fight for equality).

but posts like this need to stop.

you are not advancing anybodies rights.

you are not promoting anybodies equality.

this is not activism.

this is hate-mongering.

Thanks for the contribution :)

I’ve lost track, am I even allowed an opinion these days? Whatever. How about this radical idea: Let’s treat each other equally, and then we’ll all be equal? All this mindless mud-slinging achieves nothing and only serves to demonstrate how true objectives of those involved (notably NOT equality).

Why do you feel the fucking need to attack every fucking person on tumblr bc you want everyone to fucking be like you. You ARE a cunt and I don't feel the least bit bad saying that. So not only will I see your little gang of followers in hell but YOU'LL BE FUCKING LUCIFERS RIGHT HAND MAN.. Ya sure as hell look manly

Asker's Portrait Asked by slyzard-deactivated20170214

Answer

I do not want everyone to “be like me”; however, I want to help ignorant racists such as yourself get educated. I do not attack people. I write to people who promotes racism against my people and attempt to educate them. You are the one attacking people.

Your logic is rather irrational. A Native woman who discusses cultural appropriation and racism is Lucifer’s right hand man? You must really love racism.

btw cunt is a misogynistic term to dehumanize women.

Posting photos that state, "white people are dangerous" or "white people will run you over if you don't look mean" - I mean, come on.. that's racist.

there is no such thing as racism towards white people. White people can experience discrimination and prejudice but not racism.

I have every right to fear white people. Every time I have ever been bullied, hit, pushed, raped, molested, etc has been performed by a white person. Do you have any concept of American history? Perhaps if you knew about rape, genocide, assimilation, relocation, and oppression that white people did/and still do to PoC you would understand why I can say things like that.

indigenous-rising   just because you do not understand racism and cultural appropriation does not mean I am wrong. you should read up on these topics. cultural appropriation is an act of racism and if you support it then you are supporting racism.

we-all-share-one-moon   just bc you don’t agree with what i am saying doesn’t mean that i am wrong. there are all different kinds of people in this world with all different kinds of opinions. if you can’t deal with that, oh well. i don’t really care. you completely ignore your own racism while attacking others saying they are racist. like i said you are a bully. and a racist. and a closed minded individual. you are far worse than these people that you are attacking via the internet. i do not wish to further this discussion with you bc i do not respect you therefor i do have nothing nice to say. i sincerely hope that someday you realize how messed up your way of thinking is. best of luck xx

1. Yes there are people in the world with different opinions; however, white people do not get to decide what is and is not racist towards Native Americans. Cultural Appropriation is widely accepted as an act of racism.

2. I am not racist for telling people “posting photos of non-natives wearing costume warbonnets promotes racism” nor is describing cultural appropriation an act of racism.

3. I am not a bully for defending myself and my people. If anyone is bullying it is the people posting racist images of Native Americans. Telling white people they did something wrong is not being a bully.

4. I am not worse than the people posting racist images. They are promoting racism. I am calling them out on it. They are the ones in-the-wrong.

hello! i saw you message to someone im following. i'm sure you have tons of valid points and reasoning behind the things you say & do, but the way you approach others with these points isn't very kind. you probably have great things to say, but if you want to inform people that wearing a headress is "racist", then maybe do it in a nicer manner? because otherwise people just get mad and don't listen to a word your saying. if you truly want people to understand that something is incredibly (cont)

I did it the nice way for two years online (and in person my whole life) and was met with “kill yourself, fuck you, you’re wrong” etc.

I will not be nice and coddle the people who are promoting racism against me and my people.

Being nice has given me the same responses as when I am direct and logical.

I am not mean; I could insult her and call her names, I do not.

I tell the truth; your friend needs to hear the truth because her racism is not okay. Her racist behavior effects me and the people I love.

gogrrrl:

After a huge debate with a girl yesterday about this issue I’ve decided to write about why I believe that reverse racism is a real thing:

  • The dictionary definition of racism states that it is racist to be discriminatory against another human being due to their racial background.
  • The dictionary…
  •  The dictionary, written by white people who have no concept of racism, leaves out in the description of racism: systematic racism, institutionalized racism, and individual racism. Read about these issues before you attempt to define racism.
  • Golly Gee! Why would the dictionary only tell a white person’s point of view on racism? I cannot imagine…. <–sarcasm
  • White people do not experience racism. Not now, not in the past.
  • White people CAN experience discrimination; however, these instances do not hold a candle to what PoC have gone through and are still going through.
  • racism is not a thing of the past.
  • You are mistaking the words prejudice and discrimination for racism. White people can experience prejudice and discrimination. White people do not experience racism.
  • Racism=prejudice+power
  • Again, typical white person. DISCUSES RACISM AND MAKES IT ALL ABOUT THEM. Your white tears disgust me. There are real people with real problems out there.
