Kristi of stfumras is a harasser and an abuser.

Once upon a time I would never have put such a post here, because I figured if it didn’t happen on FRC then it wasn’t right to use that platform, especially as it’s much larger than my personal and I didn’t want anyone getting shit from people who may only be defending me because this is a large public blog.

But I am done putting myself last, and I am done protecting nasty people. Kristi deliberately and repeatedly violated my boundaries. She doesn’t deserve my consideration here.

fuckingrapeculture:

There is a tumblr campaign going on to hopefully get RAINN to change their definition of rape to a better, more inclusive one.

This is their current definition:

Rape is forced sexual intercourse, including vaginal, anal, or oral penetration. Penetration may be by a body part or an object.

You could argue that this could include being forced to penetrate, but the definition really seems to focus only on penetration qualifying as rape, and it also does not count all forced oral sex as such.

The plan is to get everyone to send an email to RAINN on March 15th, 2014 to ask them to change their definition to a better one.

Emails should be sent to info@rainn.org.

You can write your own letter or you can send them this one:

Hello,

I have noticed that the definition of rape given on your website is not as inclusive as it could be, and I think you could improve it by including victims who were forced to penetrate, and making it clear that all forced oral sex is rape as well. I am aware that rape laws vary from state to state, but as an organization dedicated to helping rape and sexual assault victims and raising awareness, your personal definition should not be limited by that.

Please consider rewriting your definition so that it does not exclude some victims.

Thank you,

[Your name]

Credit for the idea goes to permutationofninjas. This is a new post because I do not fully agree with theirs, and we have agreed that I can help in this way. I am sharing this post because I agree that changing the definition is a worthwhile goal.

List of perverted blogs to be blocked

iridessence:

I’m creating this list because the many people reblogging photos of fat women or fat femmes need to be aware of the growing list of perverted blog owners that reblog women’s and non binary people’s photos for the purpose of using them as sexual content without consent. They either treat people like fetishes, don’t leave any way to contact them to ask about removing posts or ignore the messages they do get. This is a not a call to frivolously report and blacklist, these users have appeared in my notifications for reasons I’ve explicitly stated time and time again that i (and many other fat women and fat femme bloggers) do not approve of. This is just a call to action to block the kind of blogs i know most of you don’t want following and reblogging material from you.

We need to work together to eradicate this problem. I especially urge fat positive blogs to block and add to the list.

CHECK IF THE FOLLOWING BLOGGERS ARE FOLLOWING YOU, BLOCK THEM IMMEDIATELY AND ADD MORE TO THE LIST THAT YOU KNOW OF SO OTHERS CAN BLOCK:

Ontario police have found the car of a missing Halifax woman and are treating her disappearance as suspicious.

Halifax police said a man and a woman who were travelling in the car in Harrow, Ont., were arrested for being in possession of a stolen vehicle Tuesday night.

Blake Leggette, 25, and Victoria Henneberry, 28, appeared by video in Windsor provincial court on Wednesday. Both have been remanded into custody and are scheduled to appear in court on Friday, again via video.

Halifax Regional Police Const. Pierre Bourdages said the pair had outstanding warrants in Halifax and Calgary.

Loretta Saunders, 26, who is three-months pregnant, hasn’t been seen since last Thurday night.

Bourdages said Leggette and Henneberry know Saunders.

“This file has now been transferred over to the major crime unit given the suspicious nature of the investigation,” the officer said. "Investigations are still looking for any sightings of Loretta.“

Saunders, an Inuit woman from Newfoundland and Labrador, is a student at Saint Mary’s University. Her thesis focuses on missing and murdered aboriginal women, making her disappearance a surreal irony for her family.

Her sister, Delilah Saunders, said she last contacted Loretta by text on Friday, Valentine’s Day, but the only reply she received was a brief “Hey.”

Loretta is described as fair skinned, 5-7”, weighing 120 pounds, with straight light brown hair.”

ikwe:

Please signal boost this! I received a message on facebook from the organizer of this petition, Kaaren Dannenman, and she is working hard to secure signatures for this cause.

In the traditional territory of the NamekosipiiwAnishinaape people, we are struggling to defend our historic migratory canoe routes. Each year, our small community follows the water trails of our ancestors up and down the Trout Lake River. Our women, especially the young women, will share their tremendous knowledge and teachings about water as they undertake their work to save Big Falls. (Kaaren Dannenmann)

In 2005, the Ministry of Natural Resources, without consulting First Nations or any other people, contracted Hatch Energy to conduct a survey of Ontario rivers that would be suitable for hydroelectric development. When the survey was concluded, information was posted publicly and bids were solicited for hydro development, again, with no consultation with First Natins or any other people.

The Trout Lake River, with no consultation with the people whose traditional land this is, was one of the rivers selected for hydro development — three sites on the river were identified. Big Falls was the most convenient site because it is road and power line accessible. On June 13, 2007, MNR announced that is approved, without consulting the NamekosipiiwAnishinaapek, Horizon Hydro Inc.’s proposal to develop a 3.2-MW hydropower project at Big Falls.

The First Nation people of Trout Lake, the NamekosipiiwAnishinaapek, have opposed these plans from the first. This river has been their main annual migratory route and Big Falls is of huge cultural significance. Today, it is a center of camping, canoeing, traditional education, feasting, sweat lodge and other ceremonial activities. It is also an important recreational and economic site for other residents of the area.
