the sad thing is he hugged me. we have a new student from Pakistan. He is friendly, happy, and has great hand-eye coordination. His teacher leaves him in the library because he cannot understand him because his English skills are limited. Has the school hired an interpreter? No. Have they welcomed his parents into the school to help interpret? No. 

I work on one side of the library so I see him everyday. when he needs to talk or ask a question we act out our way to communicate. He showed me the process of riding a skateboard, he couldn’t recall the word, so when i said it he was able to find a skateboard game on the computer. so little things like this happen everyday. and because i take the time to talk to him he comes to school running up with a hug. He is hugging me because i talk to him… Some kids will hug us because we did something nice for them or because we are here for them everyday; which seems like such a luxury. He is grateful that someone listen to him…
