too often when someone says that hating someone is wrong it’s someone telling a victim, or a person who is oppressed, that they are wrong for hating their oppressor or abuser. By shaming survivors, victims, or people who are oppressed, they are actually upholding oppressive and abusive people.

translation: i’d rather you continue to be hated and suffer than face the possible ramifications of you fighting back. i care more about some hypothetical badness that might come from you being angry at me for legitimate reasons than the very real harm that is done to you
