Indigenous Rising

I am home from the first week-long camping trip where we take multiple families with us and teach them some native crafts and activities, tell stories, and just be together. There were people there wanting to learn and wanting to connect to their cultures and other native peoples, and then there were the disrespectful takers who were there for the wrong reasons. I was beyond frustrated the entire time, but I’d like to think about how some of the kids really benefited from it and that makes it worth it.
