How do you feel about non native allies posting anti-Independance day statuses and declaring that all settlers living here are on stolen grounds and racist if they're proud of their nationality? As a Diné, it really bugs me tbh. I feel like we as Indigenous peoples can speak for ourselves, and that settlers shouldn't go off about it and talk of how everyone should leave, etc and then just kinda stay... I reaaally side eye em tbh and I just feel it's over stepping their boundaries and shit... idk

You have a right to your feelings; and I can understand that. My first thought, when I see white allies is “we can speak for ourselves”, but then I remind myself that white people should educate other white people as long as they are not speaking over people of color, or overstepping. How you feel is valid.
