white animal rights advocates annoy me bc it’s like……… why can’t you be just as angry about racism involving actual human beings as you are about the meat industry…………………….. why aren’t you also talking about the exploited workers in those meat processing factories who have to work in terrible conditions and are severely underpaid…… hmmm………
Not arguing with this at all, but maybe this is because they are more concerned about giving a voice to animal who literally can’t speak for themselves.
i’m not attempting to argue with the ethical concepts within veganism, which are *absolutely* legitimate in every sense, spiritually and scientifically, but if you need to go out of your way to shift more focus to animals only when this post was adding discourse to more reasons why the effects of commercialized meat-eating is awful, not just for animals but for people who are also neglected and taken advantage of by the business, you are probably part of the problem the post was calling out in the first place, and your comment was obvious and unnecessary.
peoples’ homes and livelihoods are destroyed by corporations dedicated to commercialized meat-eating, peoples’ environments and indigenous agricultures are ruined, and the worst part is not just the atrocious abuse, neglect, and needless slaughter of the animals who can’t speak for themselves, but that other humans, who DO have the voice to express themselves are IGNORED, because of the racism that these corporations profit off of.
it IS possible to be concerned about both fronts of veganism at once, and you seem to be doing a very shitty job of it.
