There are a lot of people on this site who really scare me, and I am so glad I don’t encounter people like you in person. Think you’re making the world a better place? Think again. Not like this. Not by fighting hate with more hate.
Please just be nice to people. Even if someone’s been mean to you. It takes less energy to be kind. It says more about who you are as a human being. Just please be nice, and don’t make yourself part of the problem.

Thank you, and that’s a good point. Don’t just let someone abuse or degrade you. That’s not right. Stand up for yourself. I certainly don’t think you should let people talk down on you. My point is that, when someone does talk down on you, you won’t change anything by talking down on them in return. Of course, don’t ever let someone abuse you, but don’t respond by abusing them.
There are instances when retaliation can serve as survival, though. I think the idea be nice to everyone is nice, in a perfect world. But in a world where so many people are being oppressed many people use that ideal as a means to silence oppressed groups that would retaliate. I don’t like seeing this ideal used as a silencing technique.
