When I hear the word ancestors, I associate it with people who lived a hundred or even moreso years ago. I feel like it has a long range connotation.

So when I see White people saying they shouldn’t be blamed for what their ancestors did

And they’re referring to their father or grandfather sitting in the living room

I’m a little perplexed
