i’m just really tired of minorities shitting on people because they were oppressed in the past. like, yeah, i get it, my race/gender was shit to you in the past. but news flash: i wasn’t alive then. we’re all different people. times have progressed. but if you keep living in the past, and you shit on people NOW for things that happened THEN, you aren’t going to get anywhere.
we do not live in a post-racist society. White people are still the oppressive power and oppress people of color. Whether or not each individual white person is racist and oppressive or not does not change the fact that all white people benefit from the past and current oppressions of people of color.
