Okay… On Tumblr I read a ton about race representation. This post is not about sides, wrong or right… just personal experience…
When I was younger, I really did not see race. I honestly, just saw other kids, other people. Many say that the over representation of white people in children’s movies…
I was just using my personal example.
I did not refuse to see race because I am white.
I just saw every other human being as PERSON not a color.
I can’t be the only kid in the world out there who had this type of experience…
I never said that there wasn’t a problem and I never had a side.
It was just a personal blog.
Most of the time no one even reads anything that I put on here, likes or reblogs it.
I expected this post to be the same.
I really didn’t want to be put in the spotlight about it or have a bunch of people tell me I am unaware that there is a problem when I am( I would not write about it if I wasn’t).
Sorry guys…
It seriously was not meant to dismiss a serious social issue, be harmful to anyone or blown out of poportion in anyway(tumblr does that).
That is a fake apology. I found your post in the Native American tag. How can you claim you didn’t expect anyone to comment on it? If I want something personal I do not tag it in tags that are in frequent use. Tumblr is not blowing this out of proportion; a few people are disagreeing and commenting on your post that you chose to tag the way you did. You tagged it the way you tagged it to get attention, to get others to agree with you; so often I see people claim “i never wanted anyone to see it” only after someone disagrees with them.
A child can see everyone as human while noticing their skin color. Color blindness, in this context, is not a real thing. It is a thing used by white people in an attempt to play the non-racist white person. I would be more willing to believe you aren’t racist if you said “hey, we are all different and all of us are great” but instead you pretend to not see something that is very important to all people.
