there’s a reason why i’m hardly ever on tumblr anymore

this was tagged #and it’s called sjw #sjw

It can be very difficult to become aware, or more so aware, to the oppression people are facing and have faced. It’s depressing, heartbreaking, thought-provoking; but it is necessary.

circlejerkcommander

but why was this necessary

indigenous-rising

to remind you that social justice discussions are necessary topics and to remind you to be compassionate.

circlejerkcommander

well maybe when the extreme sjw stop bullying people just for existing then maybe i’ll be a bit more compassionate

You should be compassionate because it is the right thing to do/feel; compassion shouldn’t be restricted based off of another person’s behavior. But I suspect you aren’t withholding compassion for oppressed groups because it simply isn’t there and you will use some social justice bloggers as an excuse to feel (or not feel, in this case) compassion towards oppressed groups.

If individuals from an oppressed group are “bullying” their oppressors is that  not understandable? Can you guess their motive? When I hear the word “bullying” a lot of not-okay things come to mind; however, I have seen several people claim social justice bloggers are bullying them when they are merely discussing, informing, and disagreeing with their accusers. Either way; an individual from an oppressed group is not obligated to be nice to their oppressors. I am sure you can understand that if someone in your life repeatedly hurt you (hopefully you don’t have anyone like that in your life) and systemically and institutionally oppressed you, you may not want to be nice to this person.

Your compassion is yours; no one else can control it for you. You choose who you feel compassion towards.
