The Princess and the Frog

Before anyone gets upset, I wanted to know what the heroines would look like if they looked a little more like me. I have dirty blonde hair, blue eyes, and white skin, and my favorite color is blue, so all the heroines I edit to look like that have nothing to do with my views.

If you still get upset, please click here. Know, though, that I’m discussing two different arguments on representation in this tag. Keep in mind which series you’re looking at.

Nooooooo. No. Nope. Wrong. Bad. Shame on you. What the fuck do you think you’re doing? This is not right. No one needs to see what Tiana, or ANY black character, looks like with white skin. This is just so fucking insulting on so many levels. Whitewashing black characters is and always will be fucked up. Horrid, wretched shame on you.

She couldn’t take the white girl from the movie and relate to her? She just had to whitewash the ONLY Black princess there is?

Your logic is shit OP. You are a greedy, racist fucktruck who should remove themselves from the internet and possibly the planet.

ay dios mio i dont even know

whAT WAS THE PURPOSE OF THIS EDIT

WHY DID THEY WHITEWASH TIANA WHAT THE HECK

I DON’T UNDERSTAND THIS WHITE FANS OF DISNEY ARE PERFORMANCE ART

WOULD YOU GUYS SHUT UP! ALL OF HER EDITS OF PRINCESS ARE LIKE THIS, BLUE EYES, BLONDE HAIR, BLUE DRESS. SHE JUST WANTS TO SEE THEM IF THEY LOOKED LIKE HER.

k but she’s still racist

and to be honest if your first instinct to some white girl whitewashing the ONLY black princess in the disney princess line is to defend her and not point out the small army of blonde white blue eyed chicks that are waaaay too common in the entire franchise

you might wanna check your own brain too because that’s some racist thinking too

sigh, ngl followers, I always grimace when I see someone who’s a blatant homestuck fan in posts like these because godDAMN, does that fandom have it’s own racist bullshit it has to work through. It’s just sad.

As usual, the poc retards on Tumblr must badger someone because, god forbid they edit the skin color of a character. Honestly, I don’t get what the big deal is. The OP just changed how the character looked to see what she would look like with white skin. Who cares!!! This doesn’t make her a racist person. Look how many people change white characters and turn them into other races and no one cares. Seriously guys, grow the fuck up. Also to the people saying that Disney is full of mostly white characters need to think for a moment. Do you know why Disney has a lot of white characters???? Disney mainly uses European fairy tails and most of the characters are based in times where the black population of Europe was very small. Also some of you dip shits don’t quite realize that the Disney movies made during the times of Walt Disney had very few black characters for one main reason. Walt Disney was a racist and a closet Nazi. Now I know you 13 year old kids on Tumblr who will get butt hurt over this, but seriously, in the real world, no one will give a fuck about how you feel about this.

26 year old adult here telling you that devaluing the feelings of someone, being affected by racism, because of their age is wrong. A person’s opinion is not invalid based upon their age.

This image promotes the whitewashing in the media, white supremacy, and racism, whether she intended it or not. People of color are not equally represented in the media, much less in Disney films; altering the only Black Disney princess is not creative, it is racism. One cannot hide behind creativity when stealing another person’s artwork.

You have tried to silence and dismiss the opinions of people of color who are affected by acts of racism, including white washing. You have told them that people do not care. Perhaps you do not care, which is not something to feel proud of, but people should care. Also, using the R-word as in insult is cruel and ablist. Please, reflect on what you have promoted here.
