It amuses me that PoC hear “nigga/er” as a hurtful word to PoC, but they also need to realize that calling white people “crackers” or “saltines” is just as bad. They are both JUST as harmful, whether people take it differently or not. People should not be insulting races, it’s just dumb. We are people, no matter what we look like. Why don’t we start acting like people instead of insulting our differences?
the racial slurs made against people of color are far more harmful than terms like “cracker”. The n-word and cracker do not carry the same weight, and do not share the same history of oppression.
When a person from an oppressive group insults a person from an oppressed group it is more harmful than if a person from an oppressed group insults someone from an oppressive group.
