rule number 1: You never ever tell someone to kill themselves
rule number 2: You never tell someone that they are fat
rule number 3: You never tell someone that they are thin
rule number 4: You never judge someone and point their flaws
rule number 5: If you don’t have anything nice to say just shut the hell up
but I am fat. Fat is not an insult, it’s a fact. I am fat. Someone can call me fat in attempt to hurt my feelings but it would only hurt me if I participate in body shaming.
I feel weird about using that word in particular because I hear it more often juxtaposed to an insult or used as an insult or the butt of a joke than as a simple description.
The connotation is so subjective.
But at least for you I know it’s safe to say. Otherwise I’ll probably just say “big.”
That’s fair. And I understand the main post of the text is to not use insulting words, I just wish “fat” wasn’t considered an insult. Some people are reclaiming the word.
