Well, now that it's all said and done hopefully he does learn his lesson. I'm not attempting to villainize you; I agree that he needs to be confronted about his ignorance; I just don't think this is the most practical method. I doubt he or his mother are inclined to have a conversation with a stranger on the internet on the phone; just get upset, yell "stop calling!" and slam down the phone and be able to hide behind their "terror" without really being confronted with responsibility.
You’re right about that part. They may hang up, they may not listen, but I am venturing to guess that they are reflecting upon his actions and that is a start. Once they think about what he did they might seek out information about why it is wrong.
If people are calling–hopefully non-violently– it may not change their minds right now; but if his actions were ignored how long would he have gone on without questioning his beliefs?
