i think the chains placed on her heart, she put there by her own doing. racism is not an issue of color. it’s an issue of thinking. of mentality. as human beings we are born into a cruel and unjust world. we were never guaranteed happiness when exiting our mother’s womb. the only promise we were given was death and with that everything we have stripped from us. what good will it do then to hold grudges and carry them with you to the grave. cruelty will always exist regardless of color. it is man’s choice to be the way he is. the solution to this is not to continue the cycle of hate. what do you gain? look past yourself and recent history. slavery has existed throughout the world in every single country. even once white men were slaves to africans. hate of any form is still hate. nayyirah shows what that makes her different from hitler? both eloquent with words, both heroes to their people, both use hate to justify themselves. i believe in unity and love. i refuse to hate someone for the color of their skin
