Last night, this sign went up at a McAdory High School football game.
I am absolutely disgusted that this sign was allowed to go up, and that it was not stopped by school administrators, and that after this, no one has mentioned it.
The school and the students have shown no remorse for the sign (as expected) and the students have claimed ignorance and/or that it was just a “joke”.
Sorry, but the Indian Removal Act of 1830 and the death of thousands of Native Americans is not a fucking joke.

wow, stop overreacting over this shit. it WAS a joke. its a pretty clever joke too. the trail of tears happened almost 200 years ago, so even though we can still learn from it, no one alive today has ever suffered what those native americans did long ago. no cherokee indian alive right now has ever been forced to walk a “trail of tears”.
Genocide is not a joke. And you have no right to tell Native Americans how we should feel and respond to racism against us. Also, Native Americans are still being oppressed today and if you think genocides against Indigenous “Americans” is over you need to get an education.
