tone policing.
You are attempting to silence me, a Native person (a Cherokee person), which is an act of racism on your part. You are attempting to exert your white privilege into silencing me. That photo, and the actual event, is racist and promotes genocide and white supremacy. You defended it. Instead of trying to silence me why don’t you take some time to research the Trail of Tears, and why it is such a triggering subject and not okay thing to “joke” about, and listen to actual Native people who are speaking out against the racism they face instead of defending the racism against us?
hi, cherokee descendant here, fuck you and your thin skin
notice how you’re alive? notice how you have citizenship? notice how you have gaifnul employment? notice how you’re not murdered for your ethnicity?
yeah, shut the fuck up jokes are jokes and you’re just a fucking cunt
When I was seven my molester raped me while calling me his “dirty, little squaw”. I may not have been murdered for being Native American but I died that day in a way. My grandmother was stabbed to death(46 stabs) by a white supremacist woman. Just because I have a job and am not murdered doesn’t justify the genocide my people face(d).
genocide is not a joke.
you are upholding white supremacy by defending the act of racism depicted in that photo. You are promoting genocide against Native Americans and racism against us. You do this while claiming to be Cherokee.
sorry to hear you were raped, but that in no way makes you a good person.
there is a difference in a joke! and ACTUAL genocide!!
there is a post going around about autocorrect changing “i want some donuts” to “i want to exterminate the jews” and the joke is about Hitler just wanted some donuts lol
guess what, it’s a fucking joke!! no one who laughs at it is condoning genocide!!
look up the word hyperbole! nevermind, you’re an internet keyboard warrior, i’ll do it for you.
- Hyperbole
- Hyperbole is the use of exaggeration as a rhetorical device or figure of speech. It may be used to evoke strong feelings or to create a strong impression, but is not meant to be taken literally. Wikipedia
what you call “jokes” can be harmful and can promote racism and genocide. The one you mentioned above is harmful; the photo we originally were talking about is harmful.
