Do you think it would be disingenuous for a white passing First Nations woman to tan, like in a tanning bed? I just want to fit in more, especially at powwows where people don't know me and assume that I'm just another 'Cherokee princess'

I really don’t know.

I heard tanning beds can cause health problems. The approval of others is not worth jeopardizing your health over. You should accept yourself, including your skin, and keep close the ones who accept you too. (just my opinion; you can do what you want with your body! )  <3
