Quick question. About 10 years ago I bought a Native made necklace. I feel incredibly uncomfortable wearing it as a white woman, as the necklace is distinctly Native and made with bones and turquoise. I've always kept it because it is very beautiful, but it lives in my jewelry box. Am I over-thinking this or am I right to not wear it?
Native made jewelry is fine to wear. It would be problematic if you wore it to dress up as a Native American, but wearing it without impersonation is fine.
It also depends on if the necklace is considered sacred or piece of regalia; I suggest asking the seller if it is okay to wear it before buying it.
