I hate rape as much as the next person, but people on Tumblr are both annoying and stupid about it. I agree that people need to be informed on not raping, but rape will always occur. You are an idiot if you really think that there is a way to get rid of rape…
Any of the times… maybe stop putting yourself in the position you were raped.. idk they if you have been raped then there is a higher chance you will again. But that seems ridiculous. Feel like take a rape prevention class or stop going to place you went before. Insanity(doing the same thing over and over expecting a new outcome) help stop insanity.. and change up your routine.
trteal89 you, too, are blaming the victims of rape rather than the rapist. If we (rape victims) stop going to the places where we were raped or places like the places we were raped where are we allowed to go? How quickly will no where be a safe space for us to be? People get raped in their own homes, on the street, in buildings, in stores, in schools, etc etc etc. Stop blaming the victims and put the responsibility where it belongs.
What I was reffering to, were the Women and Men.. who are “blind-sided” in a bar or club scenario… as far as the stores malls schools… the men or women that rape should have their worlds flipped inside out… remember that they will get what is coming to them. I know not all rapists are caught or have horrible things done to them. But blame is on both parties 99.99:.01 I do not think that rape is preventable but if we were better at listening to people and stop being lazy friends and neighbors this type of situation could be nailed before it gets to the point where they commit. For everything awfull we do there are signs. They should teach these signs in schools and colleges.. it should be mandatory in the military and it should carry the death penalty if done and convicted. This alone I think will slow down if not stop this humongous problem we obviously have. By now you are probably wondering where the .01 part comes in… it comes from everyone who is not paying attention to the surroundings and making good decsions taking the time to know people. And making sure that alcohol is nowhere to be found if coitus is to be had or might be had. Sorry if it sounds bad but this is just my opinion.

it’s our faults for not being more observant and defensively trained? No, it’s not our jobs to live in a bubble always expecting the worst. It isn’t fair to put any blame on the victims. Even people who would fit into your ideal victim can be a victim. People who are observant, trained in self defense, who are strong, and are in safe places, can get raped, and do.
you only saw the part where i paced a very insignificant blame on people who should always be on the look out i am and i havent been raped im not that only people who were raped should keep a look out that is human nature to watch your 6, why do make it seem like it another task for you to do or that it will be too much to look twice before crossing the street. and i said that being convicted of rape should carry the death penalty you say nothing to that. why do you feel remorse for them, or are you just stuck on the blame? this is a conversation do not in any way think i am yelling or arguing. talking is how people hear about things and become more educated.
I read all that you wrote. You put .1% of the blame on the victim and that is wrong, invalid, and victim blaming.
I think all rapists should be killed. but that is not what I want to focus on. You blamed the victims and that is very damaging.
