Indigenous Rising

A few years ago I had to complete a work experience course at a local museum in Australia, part of it included working with the curatorial team for Aboriginals. I am White-European and at this time, around 15 or 16. When we met the Aboriginal team, they were extremely hostile to me but not to my Aboriginal partner. Although I understand why I was treated the way I was, in your opinion do you think it was justified given my European background, or unprofessional for adults looking after kids
