I really don't mean to be rude by this but I am wondering, woudn't it be wrong to call yourself a womanist since you are light skinned? I am hispanic but I don't have dark skin so I feel like it is wrong to call myself a womanist or even a woman of color. What are your thoughts on this?
I have gone back and forth on this issue; womanism focuses on Black women, and is for Black women and women of color. I am not sure whether I could call myself a woman of color, being half Native (which is a person of color) but also being half white (which is not a person of color). I don’t know where that leaves me. But I am open to learning more.
