How is it survival? Explain this to me, because I’m a little lost.

White people are the oppressive group.

Knowing one’s oppressor, even if it is only a generalization, is key to survival.

Many White people enjoy their position of power and many of the ones who don’t enjoy it are also not fighting to deconstruct their power either. It is safe to assume that most white people one meets wants to keep things the way things are, a.k.a. the oppression of people of color, institutionalized and systematic racism, etc.
