I just want to ask how do white people not experience racism?? I mean where I live at least, I think theres a fair share of racism towards blacks + whites. One side of town it's known that you can be shot and killed for being black. Again, in another area of town it's well known that you can be shot and killed for being white. So what is the difference between the two? Both are wrong and tragic and it needs to change on both sides. So why do people say whites dont experience it? I'm just curious

Answer

racism = prejudice + power

White people are the oppressive power, because they have power they do not experience racism. White people can experience prejudice or discrimination, but not racism.

Racism is systematic, institutionalized, and individualized.
