there is a difference between cultural appropriation and cultural diffusion. intent is irrelevant because the outcome is the same. most people who do appropriate cultures that are not their own are doing it only to make themselves feel: worldly, educated, spiritual, unique, accepted, etc, even though wearing these costumes do not make one those characteristics. They are doing it for selfish and superficial reasons. There is no honor in that and nothing worth defending.

people who care more about their own cool, spiritual image over the cultures and races they are stealing from are racist.
