Dear followers and visitors,
I am uncertain about what to do about something that happened in class today; any advice would be appreciated. In one of my college classes, Critical Thinking to be exact, we were broken up into random groups in order to perform a task together. There were three men and two women in my group (including myself). The other woman and I were talking to each other, because the classroom was rather loud and we were seated very close to each other, and because the three men were unintentionally excluding us a bit. While we talked one of the men in our group put his foot upon this woman’s back and when she turned he said “now that I have your attention, this is what I wanted to say…” He didn’t apologize for nudging her with his foot. After he was done dictating to this woman she turned to me, rather upset, and asked me if I had seen what happened. She went on to say that she was upset. I asked her if she wanted us to tell the teacher, or if she would like me to talk to this guy. She refused by saying “it is no big deal; I am just overreacting”. But what she?
I don’t know what to do or how to handle this situation. I don’t want to take action and cause her more distress, but I feel like that guy needs to be spoken to. What should I do?
