Indigenous Rising

I support the practice of non-English languages. I think language is vital to keeping culture alive. Why would I expect the women I was in a group with to assimilate to English-speaking just to help myself? I didn’t pick up the Spanish language as a child to try to “become” Latina. I picked it up because I heard it. I keep using it because I live in California. I need to be able to communicate with as many indigenous people as possible.
