Is it weird for me to get offended when my (white) friends do sugar skull makeup for costume purposes? I get that it's an appreciation thing, but it's part of my culture and a lot of people make light of it and don't understand the true meaning of Day of the Dead...

It’s not my place to talk about this as I am pretty ignorant on this subject, but the sugar skulls can be appropriated and it can be offensive. I cannot tell you how to feel but I can say that the way you feel is valid.

Can someone with more knowledge please help us out with this?
