Hey guys, i know I haven’t posted in a while, but I got this tattoo and it means a lot to me, so yea.
vvvv Story Below vvvv
When I was 3, my mom and dad got divorced because he was a drunk, drug addict gambler, it wasn’t until I turned 6 that my mom re married a guy named Matt. When I turned 9, Matt adopted me and my sister and I took his last name. When we were younger, he would always do this thing where he would always call me chief. It was annoying at first, but now I realize that he was just being himself and trying to show he cared about my sister, mom and I. This just goes to show me that a guy who I am unrelated to in any way, is a better dad then my actually birth father. Thank you, dad.
Love your parents guys.
Instead of getting a stereotyped tattoo why not have your step-father’s face tattooed on you? Why did you pick a racist stereotype?
My step father is cherokee, he called me chief. figured it fit, but I forgot, too many people see an indian and get butt hurt as fuck.
hurrr durr racism, you hate indians hurrr durr, is assuming it’s racist because it’s on a white person’s body, racist?
The Cherokee people do not traditionally practice the use of the warbonnet. And the caricature is a stereotype.
White people missing the point episode #36863379890
I think you’re all missing the point that, why does it matter what image is used when the real meaning is bringing a family together. Like why do you feel so troubled to bitch because its an Indian chief.
All your doing is wasting time, and quite frankl look like a four year old. It’s freedom, you don’t own the rights of an Indian. I’m sure if white guys were more interesting there would be some edgy hipsters getting Larry Bird’s portrait.
Oh wait, even though that’s the exact scenario, it’s not because you are all so full of yourselves and want to sound like a victim.
Give me a ducking break.
Lmfao
K.
You’re not going to make me feel bad or change it, so just stop. K.
Lmfao.
White people struggling to be able to keep being racist.
You people get told why your wrong by the people your being racist against and you still don’t get it. Yall are delusional.
Whether intentionally or unintentionally, white people can be racist to the people of color in their family.
I’m done.
It’s really upsetting how you’re going to lose sleep over someone you’ll never meet, for a tattoo they got for a specific reason.
Geeze, like fucking mind your own shit, if it upsets you, fucking block me.
I DON’T GIVE A FUCK HOW YOU FEEL.
Why don’t you care how you make Native people feel? You like Natives only enough to get a stereotyped tattoo but not actually listen to any of us?
No, I listened, but here’s the thing, the reason was as said, my step dad who practically singlehanded my saved my family, used to call me chief, he is part Cherokee, so in honor of it, I got a chief tattooed on to my chest.
There is nothing more to it, he loves the art work and the gesture.
All you guys are doing is implying its racist, I never said I’m trying to be something I’m not. If you’re that strong against racist agendas, there are better things to harass over then a random teens tattoo.
Like damn, and no matter how many times I say it, You aren’t understanding that it has its own meaning.
I don’t give a shit if your so offended that you lose sleep over a tattoo I got.
Like seriously, go bother someone else.
I posted it because I’m proud of it, I didn’t ask your opinions, I posted the story and the image, but because of freedom of speech all o you are going to shoot off about it racist.
Respect your opinion, not enough to change my mind about it.
That’s final.
I read your intentions behind the tattoo; that’s why I asked why not get his image tattooed on you. I can understand that you didn’t get this tattoo to offend anyone but that doesn’t erase the offense it causes. The image is still a racist stereotype, whether or not you want it to be that. I don’t understand why someone would want a random face tattooed on themselves. When I see tattoos like yours I wonder who is that? But then to find out that it isn’t anyone… just a stereotype to signify a feeling “free” / “spiritual” / and now “Chief”. I cannot imagine getting a tattoo of no-one-in-particular of a White guy to symbolize greed, power, and sociopathy.
See that’s what I don’t get, you preach so much about anti racism, then use terms greed and sociopath to whites.
That’s just as racist
And I feel I don’t have a reason to answer any more.
You say your teaching but all your doing is scolding me, hence why I don’t care.
If you would of been straight out, it’s not respectful and left it at that it would of been fine, but no.
Why I didn’t get his face:
It not based off him it’s the bond he brought, and how an annoying nickname he gave me actually brought me to trust him more then my own father.
Why I used a generic chief:
I drew it, the artist did the shading and coloring, it seemed less disrespectful for a random chief then if I used an actual one and claimed something I’m not.
Why I don’t care About your opinions:
Plain and simple: you’re rude as fuck, you’re annoying and harassing me over a tattoo, then you go off on white people with negative connotations.
You wanna run an anti racist blog? Then don’t slam a race because they got a tattoo of an Indian.
You’re like 25 arguing with a teenager.
Ad said its not even educating anymore (like it ever was) please stop it is becoming harassment and I’m asking you nicely to keep your opinions to your self.
You’re not going to change the tattoo or my opinion about it.
Thanks.
You find the stereotype I put on White people offensive but not this? My stereotype was an example of a stereotype. Your tattoo is an example of a stereotype. I haven’t been rude to you; I have listened to your intentions and told you why it is offensive. Why do you find your tattoo more important that actual Native Americans?
