vvvv Story Below vvvvWhen I was 3, my mom and dad got divorced because he was a drunk, drug addict gambler, it wasn’t until I turned 6 that my mom re married a guy named Matt. When I turned 9, Matt adopted me and my sister and I took his last name. When we were younger, he would always do this thing where he would always call me chief. It was annoying at first, but now I realize that he was just being himself and trying to show he cared about my sister, mom and I. This just goes to show me that a guy who I am unrelated to in any way, is a better dad then my actually birth father. Thank you, dad.

No, I listened, but here’s the thing, the reason was as said, my step dad who practically singlehanded my saved my family, used to call me chief, he is part Cherokee, so in honor of it, I got a chief tattooed on to my chest.
There is nothing more to it, he loves the art work and the gesture.

I read your intentions behind the tattoo; that’s why I asked why not get his image tattooed on you. I can understand that you didn’t get this tattoo to offend anyone but that doesn’t erase the offense it causes. The image is still a racist stereotype, whether or not you want it to be that. I don’t understand why someone would want a random face tattooed on themselves. When I see tattoos like yours I wonder who is that? But then to find out that it isn’t anyone… just a stereotype to signify a feeling “free” / “spiritual” / and now “Chief”. I cannot imagine getting a tattoo of no-one-in-particular of a White guy to symbolize greed, power, and sociopathy.
