I see, but I just don't understand how someone who has better grades, more activities blah blah can be less worthy of a spot than a colored person who had worse grades, less activities etc. but oh well thanks for your feedback!

I don’t think you should assume that you were more qualified unless you knew all about this person, read their resume, transcripts, etc. They could have had the same grades, for example, but had more or a specific curricular activity that made them unique. There are so many variables that go into decision making.
