You know what’s retarded? People thinking that because my ancestors (maybe) had a better opportunity at life than yours (not all white people were privileged) you deserve SO many more opportunity’s to a better life/education than I do.
White privilege is benefiting unfairly from being White. White privilege doesn’t mean that all White people are rich.
What exactly is my “unfair benefit” ?
I’ll name just a few: you would have a better chance of being hired while competing with a person of color who has the same, or more, experience than you do, you are living wherever you are after your people committed genocide and relocated Native Americans, you are less likely to be stopped and frisked or be a suspect of a crime you didn’t commit, you can turn the tv on to practically any channel and see people of your race, if you tried to appropriate a race or culture (ex: wear a Sari or a Warbonnet, etc) most people would think you were cute and spiritual while the PoC who wear their cultural clothing and accessories can be targeted, attacked, and insulted for not assimilating, and you don’t have to carry the extra stress of having to be on point all the time because the people around you might base their opinions of you on all people of your race. there is a lot more but I don’t have the energy to help right now.
