Lady Gaga’s appropriation of the burqa is not simply ‘politically incorrect’, it is a function of American empire, where Muslim’s women’s bodies are bombed and violated in every possible way, and this allows Lady Gaga to profit generously off of racist imagery inspired by those very bodies.
