Hello half-french-canadian poc here! As the admin said, since french-canadian are very white-passing (a great majority, if not all of them, have Native American ancestries, but don't identify as one), they can't suffer from oppression. These kind of white/white-passing ethnic minority may suffer from prejudice, but that's all and usually aren't in position to relate about their experiences when talking about racism. Historically speaking, it might be possible to talk about (1/2)
continued: (2/2) oppression though, since even if not on a scale as big as Native Americans, French-Canadians/Americans got their right denied, and their language banned (Which is why Caju French (Louisianne) is now an endangered language). Nowaday, they may get some unequal treatments from the federal government, but don’t suffer on an individual level so I can say that their story can’t be compared to the one of many pocs who’ve suffered from racism and many types of oppressions trough their life.
