if an artist was selling works of art that were deeply rooted in their culture, would that still be appropriation for someone not in that culture to buy their art?

I think it depends on the item. Buying Native made art is a good way to show appreciation but if you aren’t supposed to own the item (for example: a warbonnet) then it could be appropriation.
