indigenous-rising: posting photos of people wearing costume warbonnets promotes racism. this is called cultural appropriation which is an act of racism. the warbonnet is a sacred item that must be earned not a fashion accessory.

born-trouble-sparks-fly:  Seriously? It was a costume party for work. You can not get defensive over me dressing up for work and wearing a “cheap warbonnet". It’s not racist! It’s me dressing up, so get off your high horse and stop over thinking a single post!

The warbonnet is a sacred item; you do not have the right to wear one, real or fake. Wearing a costume to stereotype a race is racist. Research Cultural Appropriation. These costumes are dehumanizing.

Seriously fuck off!! Wearing it has done no harm!! You need to get off your fucking high horse and get over it! You can not judge or call a person racist for wearing a costume! You can not call me racist! You wouldn’t even know my back ground. For all you know I could be Native American (not saying that i am but you would have no idea) so fuck off! Get off my blog, stay off it and stop trying to make me look like a racist prick! Wearing a costume from any background or country is not being racist!

Cultural Appropriation is an act of racism. First of all, you are desecrating a sacred item which is offensive. Secondly, you are wearing a stereotyped costume to depict a race; that is racist. Wearing a costume to depict a race is racist and dehumanizes the targeted race. We are not a costume. You are reducing a race into a costume, that is dehumanizing; and when a race is viewed as something subhuman violence and oppression towards that race is inevitable.
