Hi! So this is a really random ass question, but I've seen a lot of Native reaction to Lone Ranger (all of which I agree with). But I was wondering (if you've seen it) your reaction was for 'Cowboys and Aliens.' I remember seeing it in theaters and being impressed by the relatively accurate portrayal of Chirichua Apache, and being really happy that someone who looked like me was on the screen. And the fact that they were portrayed by Native actors. But I just wanted to get your perspective.

I’ve never seen Cowboys and Aliens so I cannot truly comment on it. If it accurately depicts the Chiricahuas and has real Native actors in it, then that is great.

The Lone Ranger movie does not star a Native actor; instead of hiring Adam Beach (I read that he auditioned for the role) they hired Johnny Depp. White actors are given more roles, especially starring roles, over people of color; and to pick a White man to play a Native American is whitewashing and discriminatory. I also find it offensive the way they stereotyped “Tonto". I haven’t seen this movie either and since it is full of stereotypes and discrimination I will not see it.
