My buddy, Beyond Grasp, is a graf artist and painter. This is one of his recent pieces. I appreciate this on so many levels.
This photo promotes racism, racist stereotypes, and glorifies the genocide of 100 million Native Americans.
Everything’s racist if you cry enough, so I won’t question that. I disagree, but I can at least see where you’re coming from with the “racist stereotypes” BS. But what I’m really curious about is how this glorifies the genocide of native Americans (whose population was already greatly damaged by disease before Europeans arrived)?
Let me guess, a white person told you that we were dying off before the settlers arrived? You are ignorant of Native American history. White settlers killed 100 million Native Americans, only a couple thousands of Natives died of small pox that the settlers sent to Natives on purpose, which is still murder.
Art that depicts Native Americans as skulls promotes the idea that we are not alive, that none of us are alive. This particular photo the skull is smiling and holding a weapon. How does that not promote the genocide of Native Americans?
