So I know the feathers of war bonnets are earned in battle for great things done while fighting. But there haven't been any Native American battles/wars in how long? So if any Native American wears one today haven't they not earned it?

The feathers are earned by doing something courageous in battle, by doing something generous, or something of great kindness for others. Do not pretend to “know” what the warbonnet is and how it is earned when you are obviously ignorant or it.
