Hi! I recently drove through a reservation that was selling small medicine bags to wear around as a necklace. I'm reluctant to wear the one i bought b/c im not sure if it'd be appropriate or not. :/

I make them as well and give them out as gifts and teach it in the classroom. I tell them what some tribes used medicine pouches for and what they put in it. I do not see anything wrong with you wearing a medicine pouch, as long as you don’t wear it and say “Now I am Indian!” Wearing it and being able to explain it is a great way to show support for Native artists.
