So there was a ceremony used in Native American culture to test if a child was gay: they would put two things, a man’s hunting spear and a woman’s crop basket in a circle of brush and then tell the child to run in and grab only one object and leave….

are you even kidding me with this shit? What Nation, pray tell, ever put their children in danger like that? “Native American” is broad as fuck. There are over five hundred Nations in North America alone and we all have different cultures and customs

I’m sorry my post has offended so many people. This is just a piece of information I came across during some LGBTQ studies. I knew when I posted it that “Native American culture” (singular) was a very pigeonholed term and not encompassing all groups of Native Americans who are all VERY different from one another (being different kinds of native american myself) and was also only being partly serious paraphrasing this information, but I really didn’t give it much thought at the time.

I’ve seen some comments on this saying that “why wouldn’t she say this? typical white girl!” Well, hell you have just stereotyped ME as well! Maybe you think your comments are helping this argument, but it doesn’t. How about a civil message? How about the benefit of the doubt that I made this post in pure ignorance and had no intention whatsoever to hurt anybody?? No. You’d rather threaten to burn my house to the ground and rape me. How. Mature.

I’m sorry to anyone who has been offended. Honestly I am.

You’re not sorry because in your apology you made it all about you and how mean people are being to you. You posted a racist, homophobic statement, do not play the victim. Learn from it and move on.
