Red Indian is a racist slur and this photograph is wildly inappropriate.

Its a little over sensitive to say im being racist… I only used the tag red indian so it would be easy to find. If every group got so worked up over costumes being made in reference to them then surely it would be chaos… cowboys, medicine men, tribesman etc, people even go to costume parties as English gentleman…. my friend simply bought this to go to a cowboy/indian party… nobody is making racist slurs against ANYBODYs people……………

posting photos of non-natives wearing costume warbonnets promotes racism

red indian is a racial slur

you are promoting racism and by defending your racist photo shows you are racist. these images are not okay. you use a racial slur as you dress up in a cheap costume that mocks and belittles our existence.

if you are not racist (even though it’s clear that you are) then attempt to learn about cultural appropriation and listen to Native peoples when we say this isn’t ok

Native peoples? As you sit on Tumblr posting slanderous ‘reblogs’. Lol let me know when you really get in touch with ‘your people’ when you stop alienating yourself with this over the top idiocy, go do some peyote and get over it.

racist again, “do peyote” that is a racist stereotype. bravo!

Do not attempt to tell me what real Native peoples do. I am not out of touch with my people.

When a Native person tells you your photo is racist it is an invalid argument to say that person isn’t Native-enough. You obviously have no idea about any Native cultures.

Stop posting racist photos.

Like I said, absolute idiocy. If you want to look at stereotyping why not pick up on the fact that I was actually looking down at your obvious LACK of a link with what you call ‘your people’ whilst you sit on Tumblr writing reblogs like a self righteous fool. I didnt mention peyote like ‘peyote is bad and we should mock it’ I said it at YOU, one lonely person sitting at their desk. If you were truly immersed in the  diverse and beautiful culture and traditions of ‘your people’ then you wouldnt be sat on a site that mostly consists of kids and porn posting slanderous things about people being racist.

At this point, i’ve lost all interest in this nonsense. Any one with their head in the real world and not online will realise that this photograph doesnt have a racist undertone that im trying to mind wash people with. Its merely a photograph. You can waste your time posting whatever you like about me being a racist or whatever, but you probably wont ever meet me …more likely as you’ll probably be sat in front of your laptop, never taking any real action, taking full advantage of the fact that you’ll probably never meet these people that you project this false self righteous image to whilst just posting nonsense about them-oh the joys of the internet and the boundaries that it so lacks… and you’ll probably never think of me as anything other than a ‘racist’ (LOL) but honestly I just couldnt give two fucks at this point. Have a good day! I’m sure you’ll get loads of likes and reblogs from many of your beloved posts (Y)

it is not “idiocy” or “self righteous” to fight against racism. your photos promote racism. these images are stereotypes. these images are harmful to Native Americans. You are directly hurting me.

not only are you being offensive by misusing the warbonnet you are promoting racist stereotypes. the warbonnet is a sacred item that must be earned. it is offensive to wear one when you haven’t earned the right to do so. this is offensive and racist.

stop posting racist photos. research cultural appropriation.
