This is why I am hestitant to make friendships with White People

I can easily forgive the ignorance, after all, their education either ignores PoC or reduces them into a stereotype, and twist the truth to make PoC look like the recipients of white people’s good deeds.

I don’t even get mad when I have to correct them when they say things like, “where is your tomahawk?”

But they show their true colors to me and then stare at me doe-eyed, as if it will erase what they said.

I was with my white friend at a coffee shop. She and I were talking about boys and sex and when I mentioned a love interest of mine, she kept questioning me on it.

white “friend”: “How can you date a black guy?”

white “friend”: “I will never date a black guy. It’s not that I’m racist it’s just they have a bad culture of treating women like shit.”

white “friend”: *as I’m leaving* Did you see that n*glet in there? So cute!“

**I wish they would be upfront with their racist bullshit. I put four months into this friendship and then she says all this crap. Ugh..
