guys i have an innocent question

cuando-no-es-contigo:

why do most people who say they’re part native american say they’re cherokee?

my one grandma was mohawk/german and my other grandma was mi’kmaq/cajun and i have NEVER met anyone who claimed to be either mohawk OR mi’kmaq (besides people who are full mohawk)

is the majority of america actually part cherokee? or is this just a go-to answer??

please nobody jump down my throat lol

I’m Cherokee and I cringe when I meet new people who say they are Cherokee. lol.
