i’m not racist, i coming from an hignly mixed family. I’m afro-european/indo-asian mixed + i’m gay so…

^Above is a real response I received in order to argue that cultural appropriation is alright when he does it. *smh*

cultural appropriation is not like straight people playing gay people, which, by the way, would not be racism, it would be discrimination.

Cultural appropriation is reducing a race down to a stereotype and/or stealing pieces from a culture that isn’t your own and misusing those items.

It doesn’t matter is you are white or mixed race or PoC; if you post photo that depict racist stereotypes then you are promoting racism.

And being gay doesn’t exonerate you from your actions.

p.s. Note that in my original statement I am not calling him/her a racist; I said that the photo promotes racism.
