Between 10 million and 114 million Native Americans - according to the lowest and the highest estimate made by researchers - have been killed as the direct result of US government actions
George Washington was given the nickname Hanadahguyus, “He who destroys Villages” by the Kanion’ke:haka because of the amount of Indigenous villages he personally ordered the destruction of. This should come as no shock to anyone, as George Washington compared all Native Americans to wolves, and expressed a wish to have them all exterminated.
And the writer of The Wizard of Oz called for the ‘total annihilation’ of Native Americans in an editorial in 1891.
