Remember when Lady Gaga made a music video where she killed her boyfriend and everyone called her a genius?

Well, remember when Rihanna made a video where she killed her rapist, and the media was, “This is too violent for mainstream airplay.”

That is called RACISM IN THE MEDIA.

Racism mysoginy mysoginoir and rape culture

No this is called “people don’t want to think about rape” the medias voice was entirely based off “oh this one is pretty and artistic” and “this one is kinda scary and a hot button issue right now that nobody wants to think about”. More over, if you really want to say that race is involved then why did Beyoncé get all the credit for gagas video telephone where ONCE AGAIN they killed the boyfriend. There is very little racial biases in the music industry as MANY of the worlds biggest and most recognized musical artists where Black Americans; Michael Jackson, Whitney, Bob Marley. Personally I think it’s people like you who keep racism alive. By drawing attention to the issue you bring it back into the light where people then make a choice as to which side they stand on. Through tall the ferguson riots there has been an increase in race crimes and General open racist remarks.

Check it out vato, it’s OP coming back to drop some truth on you.

I’ll give you one credit to the media not wanting to address rape, because it’s true.  They don’t.

But rape is not a “hot button issue” or a trending topic, it’s an on-going fixture of our sexist society, and where Rihanna has chosen to, artistically speaking, exact justice against her rapist, she was censored.  So no, the media doesn’t want people to see this, because as a facet of a male-dominated society, it doesn’t want women to be empowered.

But especially not black women.

I’m not bullshitting this.  If a white female artist made the same artistic statement, there’s a strong chance she would be lauded for her bravery.  Because the music industry is racial biased, in-spite of what you superfluously deemed as “many” of the world’s biggest music stars being black.  True, there have been many great black artists.  I personally would say all the greatest musicians have been black.  But they too have also been consistently silenced or diminished in their contributions and their politics.  They’ve had entire genres of music stolen from them, decontextualized, and made commercial for white artists to get rich off black innovations.  It happened with rock, and it’s starting to happen with hip-hop.

And frankly, outside of black artists, there is very little room for diversity in the music industry except for foreign or niche markets.

And the last part of your argument so completely ludicrous, that it becomes obvious I wasted 10 minutes of my life explaining my post to someone who lacks the mental capacity understand anything substantial in the first place.
