If You Don’t Want To, You Don’t Have To: Info About Sexual Coercion

“By definition, sexual coercion is “the act of using pressure, alcohol or drugs, or force to have sexual contact with someone against his or her will; … tactics of postrefusal sexual persistence [used are] defined as persistent attempts to have sexual contact with someone who has already refused”

Pressure comes in various forms: emotional, physical and verbal. If your partner uses any of the following to get you to become physical, he or she could be pressuring you:

• Lying
• Blackmailing
• Guilting
• Threating
• Holding you down
• Yelling
• Badgering
• Name-calling

You should never feel forced into contact with someone. Be clear and direct with your partner if you don’t want to do something. Don’t be embarrassed to say that you don’t want to get physical. Be honest and make sure that you are heard. If the other person is not listening to you, leave the situation.”

Above shows that African Americans are murdered by police more than any other race in American. And that Native Americans are the second most murdered people in America killed by cops.

Well maybe they shouldn’t have done drug dealing and theft and looting and things that include misuse of alcoholic beverages.

none of the crimes you mentioned means the person committing them deserves to be killed. Many of the people being murdered by police officers do not commit any of those crimes, many do not commit any crimes. Mike Brown Jr was murdered for jay walking. Have you ever jay walked? Do you deserve to be killed for it? I don’t think so.

You're kinda creepy tbh. Why come on tumblr to find a roommate? I wouldn't trust you.

Answer

I didn’t join tumblr to find a roommate and like I said I didn’t think I would really be able to find a roommate, but I have made some good friendships on this site and thought it would be lucky if I could make a friend who lives here and needed a roommate. You don’t have to trust me; i do not trust everything I see/read either.

The recent publicity of the unlawful killing of black people have made a few things very clear.

  1. The cops do not care about black people.
  2. White people refuse to acknowledge obvious disparities in their morals because, assumedly, black life is not worth as much as white life.
  3. There are black people who truly do not understand the danger they are in.

With these three facts present, our black community presents possibility for action. We will boycott businesses that are not black owned, hoping to achieve a few different results. The first, as untouchmyhair put it, is that the black dollar WILL matter. If people do not respect the black life, maybe they will respect the black dollar. Second, the boycott combined with word of mouth will raise awareness on the very important aforementioned issues.

So, with that, I ask all of my followers to make a sacrifice or two while we try and show our country that we matter.

I found myself wondering where I would shop. H&M, Old Navy, Forever 21? Definitely not. Therefore, for all those frequent shoppers, shoe junkies and beauty queens I have decided to compile a list of online black owned shops. Feel free to send me a message with your business, or your favorite store and I will add it to the post.

This boycott is only as effective as WE make it! So, I implore you, make this one count. I am tired of fearing for my life, and the lives of the children I haven’t had and the people I have not met. How about you?

There are so many native people in my Facebook saying anti-black racist things in regards to the ferguson protests. They are saying the black people protesting are proving they are ghetto, that Americans are tired of their shit, that Mike Brown’s murder was justified, and that they support Darren Wilson. Almost all of these people saying this are dark skinned native peoples or not white passing native peoples. This is terrifying. Anti-blackness is prevalent in native communities. I keep seeing posts about native peoples being in solidarity with Ferguson, but are we?
